About Me

Hi, I’m SpecialBob. My passion is computers, as I love to tinker with them in a variety of ways. I can spend hours tweaking settings and features in Windows. In doing so I have become quite proficient in getting Windows to work, when things go bad. I have been using computers heavily since DOS 6.0 and Windows 3.1, so I can usually repair anything in Windows 3.1, 95, 98,2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7. If I can’t fix your problem, you pay nothing.

I was trained to be an electronics technician in the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power Program. The training was intense, and I came out of it with an excellent understanding of troubleshooting electronics. After I left the Navy I repaired consumer electronics components like CD players and VCR’s for United Radio Service, a large Consumer Electronics repair company in Syracuse, NY. I was employed there for 6 years when I landed a job with the U.S. Postal Service as an electronics technician. Ever since I left the NAVY I have been using and learning more about computers, however the Postal Service has given me more outstanding training in the area of Computers and Networks.

I am now taking courses at the local college, having completed a Programming course, and 2 Cisco Networking courses. I eventually hope to get my CS or CIS degree. I plan on taking courses every semester for years to come. As you can probably tell, my life is computers, and I love working on them.

I created www.SpecialBob.com to give myself links to a multitude of resources I use in repairing and optimizing computers. I can access my webpage from anywhere there is an internet connection. Although created for my own benefit, It has evolved into the computer repair business it is today. If you are a bit on the technical side and want to repair your own computer, read through my blog and check through my repair links. Hopefully you can find something in them that can help you. If you don’t, I would be happy to have you as a customer. Thank You for visiting and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me at bob@specialbob.com.
