Should I Remove It?

Friday, March 15th, 2013

This program I just learned about looks useful to anyone that wants to clean up their computer, whether it’s new or old. It rates the programs on your computer and gives you a rating based on what other people have done with each of your programs. It leaves it up to you to decide what to keep or remove. Check it out at  http://www.shouldiremoveit.com/.

Security for your Android Phone

Sunday, November 25th, 2012

I have used an android phone for about two years now and I have never used any security on it. However, I have heard of too many people losing their phones so I figured I would give one a try. The most recommended app I found was “avast! Mobile Security.” The reviews are great and I can’t disagree with them. It’s nothing that is “Out of this world,” but I think if my phone gets stolen I am confident I will be able to remotely wipe my data from the phone. I may even be able to track it down if it’s stolen… Pretty Sweet. Check it out at http://www.avast.com/en-us/free-mobile-security .

FixBee – A Stabler & Faster PC. For Free.

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

I tried this application out and for what it does I am sure it is fine. It seems a little lacking after using all the tools out there that have so many functions, but if all you want is a temporary file cleaner and a disk defragmenter, this is a good fit for you. Check it out at http://www.fixbee.com. FixBee – A Stabler & Faster PC. For Free.

Two “Must Have” Repair Utilities

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

Lately I have been using a couple of new tools and I highly recommend them. Check out D7 for an all in one malware removal, cleanup and repair utility. Too much to mention, so check it out at https://sites.google.com/a/obxcompguy.com/foolish-it/d7 .
Another utility great for repairing windows after malware has messed it up is Windows Repair at Tweaking.com. As with D7, you have to see it to believe it. Get it and check it out at http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html.

Uninstall That Antivirus Software!

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Yes, sometimes you need to uninstall Antivirus software. Usually because it hasn’t worked and you have a virus anyway, or because the antivirus itself is preventing you from accessing the internet, or from doing omething else you should be able to do with your computer. This site I am passing on today is most definitely the ultimate list of uninstallers. It even includes uninstallers for things other than Antivirus software. Check it out at http://uninstallers.blogspot.com/ .
